Philosophy (1  2  3)

I believe that I should have the freedom to try to improve my quality of life. I believe all people, animals, and living beings, should have this freedom.

What is needed is a balanced approach, an understanding of good and evil, directions that lead towards improved quality of life, and an awareness of the role of gay individuals born into our society.

A balanced approach

I also believe that the attempt to improve my quality of life will need to be balanced against the same attempt by everything else. In my pursuit of a better quality of life, I am responsible for ensuring that my pursuit does not prevent others from doing the same.

Good and evil

I also believe that there are forces of good and of evil. The force of good is like a blast of energy pushing me and everything around me in a balanced way in the direction of a better quality of life, and continuously maintaining that direction.

The forces of evil are those that try to force a person in directions that will ultimately result in a reduced quality of life. For example, the desire to acquire more - resulting in stress that drains one's ability to handle what they have to the point where they lose control and do something irreversable that can spiral down into unhappiness and even suicide.

An example could be a socially impoverished person with similar peers taking offense against an innocent victim, and beating him insensible in the presence of that man's friends. The evil forces are: those that allow a person to grow up with expectations that exceed reality, those that inhibit the communication of feelings between people, the fear that prevents the victim's friends from saying or doing anything to stop the beating, the fear that prevents the victim and his family from acting against the perpetrator afterwards due to fear of personal threats and intimidation. A social structure that keeps people emotionally separate and therefore weak.

Directions

I believe that the elements and attributes of our society of many people are key to my quality of life goals. Therefore we must create policies and rules that create an ordered set of requirements and responses that are simple enough to match my abilities and needs and generic enough to match those of all others.

The policies and rules, and resulting requirements and responses, can change throughout the human demographic. Ideally so that the requirements of responses match each person's abilities and needs. Of course this match is easier if people of similar aspirations and characteristics group themselves and if the changes in the demographics keep pace with the changes in the policies and rules and results.

Because everything is always in flux, the forces of good are those that progress the changes in balance. The forces of evil are those that stir the pot so that the necessary associations not only break down but turn back on and destroy the ability of society to recover.

The gayness of it all

I believe that the heterosexual majority exist, as a group, to procreate.

I also believe that God hides a scattering of people within the overall population — very shrewdly born randomly according to a pattern no one has yet understood — to act as a reminder to those busy with the throes of heterosexual procreative activities, that everything our lives do depend upon are to some degree undependable.

Gay people arrive in the buffer zone between the forces of good and of evil. From childhood, such people are seen as different from the norm and experience the surprise (at best) and discrimination (or worse) society has to offer. By their simple presence, gay people force the majority to feel the flux of change. Societies that accept this as the gift it is benefit the most from the energy and creativity of their gay minority for these are the people that are forced, willingly or not, to become the signposts, leaders, and shephards of us all.

A gay person is well placed to understand both male and female needs. A gay adult is already tested in reality and often has much more courage in resisting evil and in the balances that must be aimed for in order to truly progress towards a quality of life.

In fact, it is an evil force that would say otherwise.

More on good and evil.

1. Please note that the descriptions on these three pages, Philosophy 1, 2, 3, are my own personal attempts to sort and describe life. If reading this is meaningful to you, then great. If not, then I'll just have to try harder.
